About Us
FOP lodge 49 is first and foremost a membership driven organization. Our goal is to take care of all cops in the Aurora Police Department and do what is in their best interest. While taking care of our fellow Police Officers we ensure the best possible service to all the citizens of the City of Aurora.
Most recently we have taken over negotiations for the police department and vow to get the best possible contract. By doing this we will ensure the officers are properly compensated for tireless work that is done, in addition to proper retention and recruiting. We also look to create new positive relationships with citizens and stake holders of the City of Aurora.
Lodge 49 will always look out for the best interest of the police officers and ensure the fraternal brotherhood stays alive.

Our History
The Aurora FOP Lodge 49 started in 2002 with 26 officers who wanted a change from the current union leadership. Over the years the lodge has grown to over 450+ members making it the third largest in the state behind the Denver Sheriff’s Department and the Arapahoe County Sheriffs Lodge.
Lodge 49 is now the largest police union in Aurora and in 2019 by a majority vote became certified to be the bargaining unit. The Aurora FOP represents Commissioned Police Officers, Detentions Officers and Dispatchers.
